Improving My Dreams

Last night I performed my dream routine. I grabbed a bottle of corona (no pun intended given the current environment) with a lime wedge, and used it to wash down all of the supplements listed in our basic membership section. As I prepared for bed, I put on some isochronic theta tones set to “loop” on YouTube, and added some rain effects by sleep sounds from Alexa (also set to loop).

Just like on so many other occasions, I experienced actual dreams. Normally, I do not dream. I have abstract thoughts while I sleep, on occasion, but there are no visuals or sounds to accompany them. However, when following my routine, I wake with a better sense of the dream. It’s difficult to say whether or not visuals are involved, but the dreams definitely have more depth and staying power.

I hope to improve my experiences by doing this more regularly. To date, I’ve had just a few “visual” dreams. Immediately upon waking up, I ask myself, “what did I see?” I’m careful to discern between what I “thought about” and what I “actually saw.” The visual dreams are very different, because I can actually describe what someone was wearing or another specific visual.

I’m convinced my visualizations during dreaming are probably only 1-5% as visual as someone without aphantasia, even when following my routine, but it’s possible that this will improve with time.

Happy dreaming!
